Thanks for the tests. Paul found termites in the seal plate, foundation, etc. and carpenter ants in the upper walls. Also, doors and windows were badly affected. It would have been alot of restoration and you never know what you're going to run into. We do not want a "tear down" so we invoked our right to cancel the sales agreement. We are better off to buy a lot and build rather than to tear down although we really liked the location.

Should we find another cottage in better condition, we will call you again. Thank you and I hope you don't have a cold.

Thanks for this very thorough report as always. Most of this seems like it is easily corrected and not too expensive.

A question about the knob abd tube wiring, the majority of the home seems to have been converted. How much of the home is still relying on the knob and tube? The reason is that our homeowners insurance carrier may not write a policy with this style of wiring, so I just wanted to be able to quantify this for them once I send them your report. Thanks again for everything.

If you think of it, can you send me the name of the roofing person you had mentioned previously? I misplaced the card I wrote it on, and will probably have the roof evaluated in the spring. Take care for now Dick.

I have one small question. In your report, you mention finding mold on one rafter in the attic. Since Paul and I both have allergy and sinus problems, this is a bit of a concern to me. You recommended that the mold be tested in a lab. How do I go about making this happen?
